We have a great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team and work on the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), the largest investment in new rolling stock in Queensland history.
Reporting to the Commercial Director QTMP, the Commercial Manager - QTMP will be a part of the team responsible for the commercial management of the project with oversight of legal matters, upstream/downstream variations and claims/disputes.
As a critical member of the QTMP leadership team, the Commercial Manager - QTMP along with his/her peers are responsible for the on-time delivery of the project within the agreed budget.
Role:Together with the Commercial Director QTMP and other Commercial Managers, manage the commercial activities for the QTMP project upstream and downstream to optimise commercial outcomes and mitigate risk for Downer, support delivery of contractual commitments to customers, support resolution of issues and drive a culture of continuous improvement.Provide commercial and contractual expertise to improve the performance of the QTMP project, by providing commercial oversight to the Project Deed, and related contracts and subcontracts.Assisting with upstream and downstream variation claims and contractual disputes in conjunction with the Contractor Variations Manager.Resource management and appropriate allocation of work as appropriate including to internal or external quantity surveyors.Supporting the project with full implementation of and adherence to The Downer Standard (TDS) for Delivery Management Standards and Commercial and Legal Standards, in partnership with the TDS & Assurance stream of the project.Support developing commercial acumen within the operational businesses.Skills & Qualifications:Formal Tertiary qualifications in Law, Construction Management, Quantity, Business Management or equivalent.Significant prior experience in the management of large-scale construction, rolling stock manufacturing and maintenance projects.Collaborative customer-centric thought leader.Strong communicator and builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.What We Offer:Career progression and development opportunities.A workplace focused on Zero Harm; safety is at the core of everything we do.Flexible working arrangements to encourage work/life balance.Competitive remuneration.If this sounds like your next exciting role with an ASX listed organisation, then we would love to hear from you
