Job Title: Design Department Head Our client has been operating in Brisbane for over 20 years, specializing in delivering top-tier Mechanical and specialist air-conditioning services across SE QLD.
They cover the full lifecycle of a building from design to construction and maintenance, working in a range of sectors such as commercial, health/hospital/labs, university, shopping centres, high-end hospitality, and industrial, providing both Greenfields and refurbishment projects.
The RoleThis role is heading up the Design department with the view to grow a team and expand the business design services.
We are seeking an engineer who is either at an intermediate level and looking for a step into a Senior role or an established Senior who has existing experience in growing a business.
'Years' of experience is not important; it will be your ability and desire to take on this exciting and lucrative challenge.
Skills and ExperienceMechanical/HVAC engineering designConcept design developmentCritical and creative thinking in identification of Value Engineering opportunities and strategiesAbility to provide risk minimization solutions for awarded projectsManage drafting resourcesAttend site meetings, site inspections, and design coordination meetingsMarketing and winning work (open to a candidate who could do this from day one or someone who would like to develop into this role)RequirementsBachelor Degree in Mechanical EngineeringDesign experience of at least 7+ years in Building Services/HVACExcellent knowledge of Australian and/or NZ standardsGood communication skills, personable, organized, and motivatedThis is an outstanding opportunity to really 'own it', have the autonomy to run your own section as your own business, with a real ownership stake on the cards in the future.
