Location ProfileHampton Park Secondary College is a large multi-cultural learning community situated in southeast Metropolitan Melbourne, currently having over 1200 students from over 60 cultural backgrounds and approximately 190 staff. Learning at Hampton Park Secondary College is categorised into three stages: Explore (Year 7), Enhance (Year 8 and 9), and Excel (Year 10, 11 and 12). These programmes recognise the unique needs of each student.

Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
SC2 Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies.
SC3 Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning.
SC4 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
SC5 Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values.
RoleThe primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. All classroom teachers may be required to undertake other duties in addition to their rostered teaching duties.
ResponsibilitiesThe role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
