We recover resources and give them new life via Construction and Demolition, Excavation and Drilling, Road and Rail, Infrastructure Projects, Local Councils, Food and Organics, Construction and Landscaping materials.
By partnering with the public and private sectors, our best practice technologies connect waste disposal to materials supply to ensure we deliver a truly closed loop solution to our clients.
We invest in technology to dramatically reduce greenhouse gases and environmental degradation to protect the planet for future generations.
About the Role
The Purchasing Officer role is a newly created position within Repurpose It, and will play a key role in vendor management, purchase order management, and price comparison analysis, to ensure that we are getting the most cost-effective outcomes within the required timelines.
The responsibilities of the role are varied, however, the main responsibilities are:
Evaluate new vendors by conducting background checks and negotiating terms, and if approved onboarding these into our ERP system Review our list of approved vendors, ensuring that they continue to meet our standards and align to our values Create, review, and request approvals for purchase orders according to relevant financial delegation Act as the primary contact for vendors and internal stakeholders Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, including the number of processed orders, spending by department, and supplier performance Analyse purchasing data to identify trends, potential cost savings, and efficiency improvements Present reports to the Procurement Manager, providing insights and recommendations based on data Ensure all purchasing activities adhere to Procurement policies and guidelines Monitor transactions for compliance, report any discrepancies, and take corrective action when necessary This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Epping.
Whilst we are flexible, this is an on-site role rather than a hybrid position.
About you:
The following skills and qualifications are required in this role:
Bachelor's degree (Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field) Demonstrated experience in a similar purchasing role, ideally within the manufacturing or construction industry Process driven with excellent attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent stakeholder management, organisation and influencing skills Strong negotiation and time management skills Familiarity with accounting procedures Current Police Check Must have right to work in Australia Why Repurpose It?
