Salary : MP Year 1-9 : $377,557 - $479,490 per annumBase Salary : $306,690 - $398,110 per annumProfessional Development Allowance : $31,926 per annumEmployer Contributed Superannuation : 11.5% (Effective July 2024)Role Overview : Provide clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment for older adults (65+ years) or those with mental illnesses related to aging.Work with a well-established Older Adult Mental Health Team, including training registrars, nursing, and allied health staff.Collaborate with general practitioners and other healthcare professionals.Supervise and train medical students and junior doctors, including training registrars.Participate in research projects relevant to mental health services.Join the on-call roster for the mental health team and the ECT roster.About the Team : Based in Albany with outreach services across the region and a regular visiting clinic in Katanning.Collaborate with the local geriatrics team on memory services.Involvement in innovative projects like the sexuality in dementia project and the role of a dementia navigator.Opportunities for service improvement, research, and teaching with local Rural Clinical School and Universities.Co-located with a 16-bed adult inpatient unit and community mental health services.Ideal Candidate : Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in psychiatry.Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or approved equivalent.Extensive clinical experience in older adult mental health.About the Great Southern Region : Home to about 54,000 people, with 35,000 in Albany.Known for award-winning wineries, beautiful beaches, and outdoor activities.Thriving local arts and sports scene.Welcoming and well-established medical community.Benefits : Competitive salary package with 11.5% employer superannuation contributions.Generous professional development expenses allowance.Leave entitlements : 4 weeks annual leave + 1 additional week, 3 weeks professional development leave (PDL), and additional PDL for overseas leaveWork visa sponsorship, including permanent residencyDiscounts across some private health funds.For further information regarding this opportunity, please contact Anna at .
