With 186 registered beds, an emergency department, 5 operating theatres, 12 bed Critical Care Complex and a busy day surgery/endoscopy unit, the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community.The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.Joining our team means you'll be supported by great team leaders, be part of a strong, innovative team who always strive for better, and have the opportunity to flourish and grow.As a CSSD Instrument Technician your responsibilities will include:Ensure sterilizing practice standards AS/NZ 4187 (2003) and infection control are adhered to at all timesPerform duties in all work areas of the department (decontamination, packing, sterilisation and loan instruments)Testing of machinery (washers, sterilisers etc.)Ability to plan, manage resources and understand the importance of prioritised equipmentInform CSSD Manager/Floor Co-ordinator of any deviation from normal e.g. spore tests, pre-vac tests, washer tests, ultra-sonic tests etc.Perform other duties as specified by the CSSD Manager or Peri-Operative Services ManagerAt least 1 year CSSD Technician experienceCertificate III in Sterilizing Services or working towards this certificateCommitted to maintaining currency in practical skills and knowledgeAble to work well in a team as well as independentlyAble to prioritize, plan and take the initiative to respond to changesWhy Healthscope?We care about your career at Healthscope.No matter where you go within our community of care, you'll be supported by great team leaders, be part of strong, innovative teams who always strive for better and have the opportunity to flourish and grow.Our people are at the heart of our organisation - no matter the role, every day our people make a difference to the lives of our patients and their families.
