Deputy Director Apache SPO / Contract Management DirectorThe Australian Army has selected the Boeing AH-64E Apache Attack Helicopter as their Armed Reconnaissance capability replacement platform.
The applicable Attack Helicopter Systems Program Office (AHSPO) are now seeking an experienced and effective leader to occupy their Deputy Director/Contract Manager EL 2 position in order to support the implementation of this complex procurement.
The Deputy Director's responsibilities are critical for ensuring the successful acquisition and ongoing sustainment of this advanced war-fighting asset.
As Deputy Director, you will be responsible for leading a highly skilled, diverse, multi-discipline team focusing on delivering business and commercial activities including, but not limited to, contracting, procurement, workforce, financial management, security, data integrity, records management, governance, and quality assurance.
This role requires a flexible and adaptive mentor to align with Defence's constantly changing priorities whilst achieving the essential business outcomes.
The Deputy Director position will provide expert guidance to key stakeholders on Defence's evolving strategic posture, monitor outcome-based performance, and the administrative processes required to achieve business success.
As the EL 2 contract manager, you will also plan and manage various resources with appropriate delegation and advanced reporting.
This is an exciting opportunity to directly influence the Australian Army's Aviation evolution by contributing to the implementation of a proven and mature rotary wing capability.

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

About our Team The new Attack Helicopter Systems Program Office (AHSPO) Apache capability is designed to support the Joint Force of the late 2020s and beyond to fight and win the land battle.
As the Attack Helicopter project is an emerging capability, the team, which comprises ADF, APS, and Contractor staff, is rapidly growing.
The team is currently split between Canberra, Brisbane, and Townsville.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-value, advanced Defence capabilities, whilst being rewarded with a professional, inclusive, and supportive team.
Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for a reliable leader who has a proven ability to work under pressure and apply strategic thinking.
Commercial contract management, governance, assurance, and workforce management skills and experience are highly desirable.
Candidates who can demonstrate an ability to rapidly acquire the requisite skills will also be considered.
