We do this using our unique set of solutions, systems, experience and processes - often collecting and analysing huge volumes of data.We employ over 4,000 people across 18 countries in the Americas, APAC, UK and EMEA.This role is to support sales and delivery of BAE Systems Cross Domain technologies and products including (but not limited to) the design, build, operation and support of IT infrastructures with a primary focus on customer support (upgrades) as well as project based work.A PV Australian security clearance is required, or the ability to acquire one.This role reports into the Chief Engineer (INT GOV - Australia) and will be the local Cross Domain SME.The Cross Domain Infrastructure Design Engineer will ensure the Cross Domain infrastructure delivers continuous business value for our customers through the design, implementation, availability and capability of various components to ensure services are available as required to carry out business tasks.DeliveryContributes to the build and implementation of projects following detailed architectural designs, contributing to the test and transition to the target solutionWorks with Systems Architects and local Cross Domain SME to design and develop the infrastructure component of delivered systemsAssists in the preparation, management and execution of detailed technical delivery plansContributes to the identification and management of risks and issues for the delivery of the proposed solutionProductRepresents the engineering function in technical discussions with senior stakeholders, both internal and externalCoordinates with the Chief Engineer to ensure regional Cross Domain strategy is appropriately reflected in operational planning and deliveryResponsible for execution of Cross Domain plans endorsed by the Chief ArchitectRepresents day to day technical liaison with the UK Cross Domain team (supporting the strategy alignment owned by the UK Chief Architect) ensuring the Australian team is briefed on product updates, roadmaps, incidents, risks, issues, architectures and solutionsSupport the development and maintenance of the Australian Cross Domain lab and has primary responsibility for conducting demonstrations to customers either using Lab or Proof of Concept (PoC) capabilities on customer sitesDevelops and builds strong relationships with key Cross Domain technical stakeholders in Defence and NS customersDevelops relationships with key suppliers to enhance the effectiveness of the BAES AI market offeringsContributes to the creation, improvement and maintenance of process documentationTeamSupports continuous improvement through feedback on existing processes, and proactively proposing process and template improvementsMentors junior engineers, developing them by providing guidance and support in Cross Domain technologies and estimation activitiesProvide software support knowledge in conjunction with a CDS Software SME - focus on Java technologiesFulfils support obligations with a level of autonomy to ensure customer ongoing missions areSupports knowledge share amongst team membersSupportContributes to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work including building and management of systems and componentsTakes responsibility for agreed support and maintenance procedures at customer sitesProvides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational proceduresEnsures the resolution of operational problems and incidents in line with Service Level AgreementsIdentifies operational problems and contributes to their resolutionPre-SalesParticipates in customer workshops and meetings for identification and/or elaboration of scope and requirementsContributes to proposed designs for Cross Domain solutions addressing customer scope and requirementsContributes estimates for design, build and testing activities to support project delivery planning and costingSuccessful Applicants must havePV Australian security clearance is required, or the ability to acquire oneQualifications in Computer Systems Engineering or a similar level of demonstrated infrastructure engineering competence is highly desired.Robust understanding of networks, coupled with a strong background in Linux systems administration, ensuring proficiency in configuring, optimizing, troubleshooting expecially in Linux-based environments and experience in VoIP solutionsLife at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence We are embracing Hybrid Working.
