Position Summary : The Diabetes and Endocrine Unit has an exciting opportunity for an Endocrine Nurse CNC position.
It is a fixed term, full-time position for 12 months with a ZF4 classification.
The Alfred Specialty Medicine Program within the Operations division is comprised of six clinical units including: Clinical Genetics and Genomics, Dermatology, Endocrine and Diabetes, Gastroenterology, Renal, and Rheumatology.
The program provides admitted services including multi-day (Ward 4WA) and Same Day Dialysis services, and specialist outpatient and ambulatory services.
This is a fabulous opportunity for an experienced RN/CNS.
The role requires performing, supervising, and assisting in clinical testing and procedures, as well as patient liaison, education, and coordination of laboratory-clinical interfacing.
The role involves patient triage and assessment on referrals received from internally and externally (private endocrinology clinics) that inform and contribute to the development of optimal care planning and treatment pathways.
This CNC role is to educate patients, families, and carers, assisting their understanding of their diagnosis and subsequent treatments.
The Endocrinology CNC responsibilities encompass a wide array of patient care and administrative duties.
In addition to the clinical and administrative tasks, the Endocrine CNC collaborates closely with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to manage patients comprehensively, particularly for patients with complex care needs.
The CNC conducts procedures and oversees the treatment process, working in tandem with physicians to ensure required treatment is provided.
Experience and Qualifications Required : The successful applicant will receive a supportive and comprehensive handover prior to the leave cover.
