About the Parent Infant Program (PIP) The Parent Infant Program has 6 beds available within the Acute Psychiatric Unit.
The Parent Infant Program cares for and treats parents with a mental illness and their infants up to 12 months of age, recognising the importance of fathers in their role as a primary carer and a supportive partner.
The catchment area is Northern, North East and Hume regions of Victoria.
About the role Hours per week: 17.5 hours Employment status: Permanent fractional Appointment available: from 13th January 2025 As the Consultant Psychiatrist, Parent Infant Program, you will be required to provide comprehensive and high-quality evidence-based psychiatric services to consumers and their families or support networks in the inpatient unit.
The consultant psychiatrist positions are important leadership roles within the organisation.
You will be working with a team of professionals to make a difference to consumers impacted by mental health difficulties.
About you Applicants are required to be Medical Practitioners registered in the State of Victoria holding Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent.
You will bring your knowledge and experience in parent-infant attachment styles and have the capacity to focus on long term improvement in outcomes for infants, along with their parents.
