As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer at Vanderlande, reporting to the Project Lead Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems for complex Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) and parcel handling systems.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that electrical designs meet the high standards required for safety, efficiency, and reliability in airport and parcel handling environments.
This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation systems that enhance operational efficiency for clients around the globe.
Your Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for BHS and parcel handling systems, ensuring they meet technical specs and safety standards.
Work closely with Low-Level Controls (LLC), High-Level Controls (HLC), and IT teams to seamlessly integrate electrical systems into broader automation frameworks for airports and parcel distribution centers.
Design and refine electrical system layouts, single-line diagrams, and cabinet configurations that are customized to the unique needs of airport and parcel operations.
Ensure efficient and reliable systems by managing power consumption, heat dissipation, and voltage drop calculations.
Oversee the creation of technical documentation, like RFQs, equipment lists, and safety design specs, ensuring all stakeholders have clear and actionable information.
Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to confirm system performance and compliance with design and operational standards.
Offer technical support during installation and commissioning, ensuring smooth system integration and addressing any on-site challenges.
About You A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, ideally with a focus on Material Handling or Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) in airports or parcel solutions.
Skilled in electrical design and industrial controls, with proficiency in CAD software such as Eplan, Auto CAD, and Navisworks.
Solid understanding of how electrical systems integrate into large-scale automation projects, especially in BHS and parcel handling environments.
Willing to travel internationally for project work and training opportunities.
Strong technical and analytical skills, with an eye for detail in system design and execution.
Leadership qualities that help deliver top-notch electrical systems, even under tight deadlines.
Enthusiastic about international travel for project work.
A proactive problem-solver with a passion for continuous improvement.
Ability to anticipate and meet customer needs when it comes to electrical system performance.
Ensure electrical systems perform at their best through thorough testing (FAT/SAT).
Always prioritize safety and ensure electrical designs comply with regulations and technical standards.
