We know that our success is the result of more than 4,000 talented people working together to achieve amazing outcomes.Reporting to the Superintendent, the Heavy Mobile Plant Mechanic will play a vital role in delivering successful outcomes from several key areas of focus. The major tasks will involve hose building, installations and repairs on all Caterpillar fleet. The minor will include mechanical repairs, servicing and inspection on the machines.Those with a strong background as a hose specialist/builder would be ideal, however would also suit a dynamic tradesperson looking for a blend of hybrid tasks and a change of environment. This is a perfect entry level mechanical position with the potential for career progression or would suit those looking to diversify their skills.This role will have a strong focus to safety, warranty claims, reporting, audits and full management of hose consumables and inventory plus machine inspection.Location: Gudai Darri, Newman - Progressive site with high-tech gear including autonomousRoster: FIFO from Perth - 8 days on, 6 days off, 12-hour daysTo be successful the following is required:• Australian-recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Trade Certificate or equivalent.• Extensive knowledge as a CAT certified hose builder/ specialist.• Previous experience performing fleet audits on a mine site.• Previous hose inventory management experience.• Exposure to SAP and related systems in collaboration with site planners.• Confidently process warranty claims and deliver monthly reporting.• Ability to provide continuous improvement on process and surplus stocks.• Proficiently remove, build, and install hoses reducing downtime.What we offer:• Opportunity to receive a referral bonus of $5000 as part of our Recommend and Spend program(Not applicable to international referrals)• Flights to site ex Perth, accommodation/food provided on Rio Mine site• Paid training required for site.• Job security with a consistent pipeline of work.• Solid entry to a mechanical position and consistent pipeline of work.• Supportive work culture with training opportunities at our Westrac institute.• Made for More Rewards with discounts at major retailers like Woolworths, Caltex, Apple, Crown,Qantas and more.• Paid parental leave, discounted health insurance, income protection insurance, and salarysacrifice optionsWesTrac Pty Ltd is committed to achieving a diverse and engaged workforce.
