Senior Accountant - Superannuation Fund (APRA regulated) Full time

About the role:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial deliverables for our superannuation funds.
This includes tasks like month-end processing, preparing reports for the Trustee and APRA, coordinating audits, handling tax matters, conducting system testing, and other related duties.
Your expertise will help ensure accurate and timely financial information, supporting our organisation's financial health.
You will also have the chance to work on projects related to in-house managed funds as needed.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Preparation of annual superannuation financial statements and facilitation of audits for the superannuation fund and sub-funds.
Delivery of quarterly Board reporting packs, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, reserve projections, and variance analysis.
Lodgement of APRA reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with strict reporting deadlines.
Preparation of annual tax provision calculations and BAS for the superannuation fund.
Execution of month-end processes, including daily and monthly reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts.
Management of bank accounts and cash balances, including overseeing the bank reconciliation process.
Testing and recommending improvements to the in-house integrated superannuation system.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within Finance or Accounting.
Comprehensive knowledge of superannuation, APRA reporting standards, and financial markets.
Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications at an intermediate to advanced level.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Thorough understanding of financial accounting principles, including general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
Ability to take ownership of and commitment to time-bound deliverables.
Capability to work both independently and as a productive team member, with excellent interpersonal skills to interact with other teams, particularly administration and IT.
Qualified or semi-qualified CA/ CPA is preferred.
