Federal Government opportunity in Surry Hills12-month contract with possible extensionEL1 - $602.55 per day + superHybrid work arrangementThe EL1 Assistant Director Financial Reporting (Professional Stream) will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across various activities with substantial depth.
This role includes managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and, where necessary, representing and negotiating on behalf of the agency to advance its interests in multiple forums.
Key responsibilities will include:Lead components of the Financial Reporting team, including month-end inputs, reporting, analysis, risks, and controls, as well as preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations.Drive, maintain, and improve the month-end cycle across the finance team, ensuring efficient, timely, and accurate processing, with a continuous improvement culture.Coordinate monthly General Ledger close and reporting procedures for the Agency and the Scheme, and maintain the centralized General Ledger Journal posting register.Lead the preparation of notes and schedules for the Agency's financial statements, liaising with the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) regarding audit matters.Manage key stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, business partners, and others.Oversee the end-to-end management and reporting of the Agency's fixed assets register, coordinating accounting processes with Corporate Shared Services and Agency resources.Ensure compliance and financial assessment of the Agency's property lease contracts, and coordinate all financial accounting entries into the lease accounting register.Key Skills Required:Previous experience in a similar role.Excellent communication abilities.Strong learning agility and a positive, adaptable attitude.Collaborative team player with coaching and mentoring capabilities.Problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.To Apply:In order to be considered, applicants are required to hold an Australian Citizenship.
