Associate - Urban Designer

This Sydney Studio is currently working in multiple sectors with private clients and state government/local councils including: Open Space, Sporting and Recreation, Public Domain, Education, Health, and large scale Master Planned developments throughout NSW. This studio is emerging as one of the most interesting practices for designing unique spaces in both the public and private realm.Seeking an Associate or Senior Associate level Urban Designer with leadership skills and a passion for public space. The right person will have excellent communication and team coordination skills and a proactive and creative drive. You will be passionate about team culture and have a keen interest in being a part of (and driving) team design charrettes, project planning workshops, and team social events.This will suit someone who is excited by great design, thrives in a team environment, is self-driven, committed, and client-focused. You will be able to balance priorities well and meet deadlines while working within a supportive team environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild strong client relationshipsFocus on bids and business developmentTeam and consultant coordinationPreparation of design drawingsProject contract administrationPreparation of tenders, proposals, and submissionsA strong desire to collaborate at all levelsWork across various groups of stakeholdersSkills and ExperienceTertiary qualification in Urban Design (exposure to Architecture or Landscape Architecture beneficial)Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and SketchupSolid graphic communication skillsSignificant project leadership experienceProactive self-starter with interest in the industryWide network in NSW and ability to grow thisAttention to detail and delivery of quality documents and communicationHigh level written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to work autonomously and within a teamGreat organisational and time management skillsLocal regional knowledge and experienceBenefits and CultureMulti-disciplinary creative team with support from national offices and boardA culture that fosters leadership progression and actively encourages growthA lively, social work culture with regular events and team activitiesIf the above position appeals to you, please submit your CV and work samples (no more than 10mb PDF attachment) to ****** and we'll be in touch.
