Job Summary: The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team.
Your primary responsibilities will revolve around financial leadership and direction to ensure the long-term financial sustainability and growth of the company.
Additionally, knowledge of takeover procedures will be essential for this role.
The Finance Manager will oversee all financial functions, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting, while also playing a key role in developing and implementing business strategies.
The Finance Manager has overall responsibility for the strategic planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of a company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk and governance as well as negotiations.
The Finance Manager job description should also extend to obtaining and maintaining investor relations and partnership compliance.

Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting teamProviding strategic recommendations to the CEO/President and members of the executive management teamManaging the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reportingAdvising on long-term business and financial planningProviding commercial insight and leadership across the business to exceed business plan targetsEnsuring the risk and compliance management framework is embedded and operational for the GroupEstablishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholdersReviewing all formal finance, HR and IT related proceduresManaging a small team at the transactional levelConducting reconciliations and monthly reportingEnsuring compliance with BAS/ IAS, PAYG, Payroll taxManaging budgets and forecasts, cash flow analysisManaging General Ledger and performing monthly balance sheet reconciliationsEstablishing sales and profit forecastingPreparing monthly sales reports, tracking sales and profitability against forecastsCompleting monthly management financial reportsPreparing year-end statutory accounts, budgeting and forecastingManaging creditor and debtor relationshipsWorking with the Managing Director to improve performance measuresDeveloping long-term business plans to minimize company financial riskLiaising with external authorities including the ATO and external accountantsManaging statutory requirementsManaging accounting IT systems and processesIdentifying and driving improvements to processes, policies and systems across the teamMaintaining appropriate insurance coverageReporting risk issues to the relevant stakeholdersEnsuring adherence to relevant company policies and proceduresDeveloping and implementing the financial strategy of the company, aligning it with overall business objectives.
Familiarity with takeover strategies is required.Preparing and analyzing financial forecasts, budgets, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.Overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Identifying and managing financial risks, including currency exchange, interest rates, and market volatility, to protect the company's financial assets.Ensuring efficient cash flow management and working capital optimization.Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards, including tax laws and reporting requirements.Leading and mentoring the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.Evaluating potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, conducting due diligence and financial assessments.Implementing cost control measures and efficiency improvements to maximize profitability.Managing relationships with investors, analysts, and other stakeholders, providing transparency and communication on financial performance.Making informed recommendations on capital allocation, including investment decisions and capital raising strategies, with an understanding of the different implications.Promoting sustainability initiatives and incorporating environmentally responsible practices into financial decision-making.Developing and delivering best practice training for clients and staff.Finance Manager Job Qualifications and RequirementsThe role of Finance Manager is very senior, hence a high level of experience is expected for anyone applying for this role.
A Bachelor's degree in the following will be expected for this role:
AccountingFinance or EconomicsAn MBA or CPA is also highly desirable.
At least 10 years' experience in the finance industry and proven leadership and management experience is essential – with examples of when they have demonstrated excellence in the workplace.
The applicant must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the executive presence to work with senior management, investors and external stakeholders.
They must be able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and exercise sound judgment.
