Disability Support Worker - Complex Support - NORTHWEST COAST TASAged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development)
About the roleLEAP Occupational Therapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis.
This role will be based from Wynyard to Latrobe and will involve providing complex support to clients with a range of disabilities.
What you'll be doing Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasksProvide support and assistance to clients with complex needs, including those with physical, cognitive, or behavioural challengesAdvocate for client rights and ensure their needs are met in a respectful and empowering mannerParticipate in the development and implementation of client-centered support plansMaintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentationCollaborate with other healthcare professionals and service providers to ensure a coordinated approach to client careWhat we're looking for Relevant experience in the disability or aged care sectors, or a strong desire to work in this fieldDemonstrated understanding of person-centered approaches and a commitment to promoting client independence and wellbeingExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and their familiesProblem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing client needs and situationsWillingness to participate in ongoing training and professional developmentCurrent First Aid certification, Working with Vulnerable people card and a valid driver's licenceAbout usLEAP Occupational Therapy is a leading provider of disability support services on the Northwest Coast of Tasmania.
