Vestas Wind have released an exciting position for an enthusiastic and collaborative professional to join the team as our Head of Procurement Construction & Transport APAC.This is a prestigious role reporting into our APAC executive leadership team and indirectly to global management.
You will be managing teams for our onshore and offshore departments throughout the APAC region.Ideally as the successful candidate, you will reside in Melbourne or Seoul ensuring coverage of our business units across the region.
You will lean on your strong people management skills, engaging with your internal stakeholders to build effective relationships to help navigate an ever-changing project environment.Due to your past experiences you will understand the importance of value need and value creation to utilise an out of the box creative thinking model, which will help you and your teams to achieve efficient solutions.Your people management style will guide your team members to be self-reliant while looking to you for guidance on best practice methods with external and internal stakeholders.The Construction & Transport Procurement team is responsible for the strategic sourcing of all industrial service providers who support Vestas with qualified manpower and equipment for the transportation and construction of our wind power plants.Through early engagement of our business partners, we secure the best value engineered solution for the development and construction of our EPC and Supply & Installation projects.

You will be heading a team in charge of the strategic sourcing of a portfolio of projects from early sales engagement to final execution.ResponsibilitiesRegional Stakeholder Management & accountability for all escalations from regional Customer Project Execution & Logistics TeamDaily people management of all regional employees, including support and coaching of employees in all procurement related tasksSecure right capability in the regional procurement organisationsMaintain and build Vestas' relationship with suppliers, develop solutions to meet our project and end customer needs.Establish and develop partnerships with cross functionally selected suppliers to gain competitive advantages and drive value.Roll out Regional Construction & Transport Procurement strategies for Balance of Plant, Transportation, Cranes and Installation.Lead the Procurement process throughout the bidding process, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and competitivity of our supplier baseLead the team through commercial contract negotiations and develop bid, negotiation and commercial strategiesBuild supply market intelligence and ensure that the supply base is available to enable our sustainable growth strategyEnsure that all cost out and value creation opportunities are identified, and that relevant risk assessments are completed and acted upon to reduce riskQualificationsMinimum of a Master's degree in engineering, business, law or finance10+ years of procurement, commercial or project management experience, ideally within wind energy, power plants, infrastructure or the construction industry6+ years in leadership positionStrong business acumen and a passion for the development of supplier relationshipCompetenciesExperience with commercial negotiations and high level of commercial acumen.Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skillsAdvanced MS Office skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to lead interdisciplinary teamsAble to manage complex supplier relationshipsAbility to negotiate large infrastructure projectsWell organized and disciplined approachShow initiative and creativity in finding solutionsSociable and communicative approachConfidence in presenting to senior levelsStrong negotiator and influencing styleWhat We OfferWe offer an exciting job with great development opportunities in a progressive, committed and international environment.
