The Opportunity
Partnered with our host, Arnott's Biscuits, we are looking for an Electrical and Instrumentation Apprentice who wants to get hands-on with the tools while completing a UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician and a UEE31220 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control. This is a highly sought-after dual trade apprenticeship. This position is for a second-year apprentice looking to change host company due to relocation, or other valid reason. Your application will also be considered if you are close to completing your first year Electrotechnology Electrician apprenticeship. This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and based at the Arnott's site in Virginia in Brisbane's northern suburbs.

As an Electrical and Instrumentation Apprentice, your duties will include:

Responsibility for maintaining electrical machinery
Electrical repairs, maintenance, diagnostics onsite machinery
Assisting with Instrumentation and Control tasks

About You
You have excellent communication skills and are a real team player. You are someone with the ability to positively interact with all production staff members and colleagues. You are a second-year apprentice and ideally have worked in a similar food production industry. You must be able to follow instructions always and be eager to gain the skills and experience needed. As part of the recruitment process, you must be able and willing to spend half a day at Arnott's Biscuits at the Virginia site with the electrical team. This is an excellent chance for you to gain a deeper understanding of what the work environment and the role. This day spent on site is compulsory.
In addition to these qualities, you will:

Be able to provide a copy of your exemplar report and confirm details on where you are at with your training to date
Have current LVR CPR or the willingness to undertake the training at the commencement of the apprenticeship with us
Demonstrate a genuine passion for your chosen trade
Have electrical and mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Take pride in the quality of your work
Be able to work independently as well as contribute to a team
Be committed to completing and passing all practical and theory-based study requirements of your apprenticeship
Have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
Be reliable and punctual
Demonstrate good safety awareness
Have the ability to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screen, and Police Check paid for by MIGAS
