Employee Benefits Program: Work/Life balanceStaff fitness programLeadership opportunity for suitable candidatesAdditional employee member benefitsKey Responsibilities: Deliver quality teaching and learning experiences for students that develop deep understanding through exploring the conceptual and general capabilities inherent in and across English.Build learning relationships through employing restorative practices.Display a commitment to continued professional growth through self-reflection and further learning.Have an understanding of reflective practice and constantly refine pedagogy for the delivery of quality teaching and learning.Have strong knowledge in Stage 4, 5 and 6 NSW NESA English Syllabi.Additional Responsibilities: Deliver the English curriculum in a dynamic way in the classroom, using initiative in bringing fresh and creative ideas to the curriculum.Teaching Senior English, including up to Extension 1 (preferred but not mandated).Show an expertise in explicit and scaffolded learning, to help in the development skills pertinent to the English KLA.Provide students with clear and fair assessment, including the provision of regular, meaningful feedback, in a timely manner.Preparedness to engage with the English Department's teaching and learning framework, including safe and supportive environment, explicit and intentioned instruction, deep understanding and assessment of and for learning.Actively drive and be part of a reading culture amongst students and members of your Faculty.A commitment to your own ongoing professional development and growth.Show initiative in the integration of ICT into the learning program.Uphold the Christian teachings of the College, encouraging students to serve others and explore Christ.Skills / Knowledge / Attributes: Experience teaching HSC English, including Extension 1 (preferred not essential).Experience in marking HSC English is not essential but preferred.A comprehensive knowledge of relevant subject content.Work ethic reflecting a commitment to excellence in teaching and a passion for student learning.Proven ability to effectively engage students.Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with other teachers, and work as part of a team.Excellent organisation and planning skills; must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities within strict deadlines.Applicants should submit a Cover Letter addressing the key aspects of the Job advertisement, CV outlining employment history and three referees.
