Gold Migration Lawyers is an incorporated legal practice that provides specialised migration solutions to migrants.
The firm operates in the Sydney and Melbourne CBDs.
The Firm requires an experienced bookkeeper/accountant to control the trust account management of this busy legal practice.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Daily trust account reconciliation.
Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date trust account records in accordance with statutory requirements (Uniform Law).
Meticulously monitor trust account transactions and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Full spectrum of trust account process, including management of trust ledger accounts and journals and receipts.
Trust account reconciliation and ensure issues or discrepancies are reported and addressed immediately.
Periodic and year-end preparation and reporting of the trust account, filing, lodgements and liaising with auditors.
Account receivable functions include daily trust banking, receipts, invoicing, credit card processing and collection functions.
Communicate, liaise and assist clients and internal and external stakeholders relating to trust account matters.
Accounts payable and legal fees management.
Generate and review client invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines.
Maintaining compliance with the relevant legislation and statutory reporting requirements.
Ad-hoc duties as required.
Experience working within a legal practice is desirable.
At least 1-2 years' experience is essential.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or finance will be highly regarded.
Knowledge of legal trust accounting principles and regulations will be seen favourably.
Superb attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong organisation and time management skills.
Friendly, positive and TEAM-focused.
