We have an exciting permanent flexible full-time opportunity for you to join our Ministerial & Executive Services Unit based in Brisbane CBD
Reporting to the Director, MESU, Office of the Director-General, the position forms part of the senior level liaison team in Queensland Health. You will be responsible for management, coordination and facilitation of critical policy, service and operational issues within the Department. Throughout this role you will deal with emergent and potentially contentious issues concerning health consumers, clinical practice, health service delivery and related issues. You will be a critical component of the conduit for Departmental officers and staff of the Minister's Office, facilitating the provision of concise and accurate information in situations requiring a rapid response while undertaking time critical special projects as directed by senior officers of the Office of the Director-General.
The successful personYou will have demonstrated:
High level understanding of Queensland Health's operations, policies, services and structures to enable the rapid identification of areas within the organisation to provide necessary advice, and the subsequent acquisition of information to meet rapid and urgent information needs of staff of the Minister's Office and/or senior executives.Issue identification, analytical and research skills, effective problem-solving skills.Strong ability to develop sensitive and practical responses to complex issues.Consultative and communication skills to interact with officers on confidential and sensitive matters within a large decentralised health service organisation.Ability to provide advice to senior staff where issues of quality, timeliness, sensitivity and confidentiality are paramount.Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate within the team and contribute to the broader daily environment in the Office of the Director-General.About usThe Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
