Ruth's Women's Shelter - DFV Case ManagerRuth's Women's Shelter is a feminist organisation that has been providing crisis accommodation and support for women and children at risk of family or domestic violence since 1977. We have a vision to End Violence against women and their children.
We are seeking a Case Manager who can encompass our values of Respect, Safety, Empowerment, Integrity and Collaboration.
Who are we looking for: Experienced Domestic and Family Violence Case Manager to work part-time as part of a team 4 days a week.
You will be responsible for providing quality, holistic case management support to women and their children who have been affected by domestic and family violence, using an inclusive, person centred, strengths based and trauma informed approach.
Working Hours will be 7.45am-4.15pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. This role requires flexibility to ensure the needs of the team are met from time to time.
Your role will report to the Team Leader and Manager.
Your Responsibilities will be: Assessment and prioritisation of client safety through the identification and monitoring of risk and the development of safety plans.Exercise judgement, initiative and decision-making practices which considers and promotes cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.Work collaboratively with client to promote their rights of self-advocacy, autonomy and independence.Develop and drive case management goals, within the context of a strength based, person centred and trauma informed perspective.Work from an integrated support model to enable responsive, specialised and collaborative outcomes for the client.Provide advocacy and liaison services on behalf of the client when needed.Provide the client with timely and relevant information to support them to make autonomous and informed decisions about their life.Uphold and champion best practice and quality in service delivery to client's.Maintain accurate and up to date client files and records in line with the organisation's information, record keeping and compliance standards.Monitor and assess referrals to the shelter, in line with the organisation's policies and practices.Participation in case reviews and discussions with Team Leader and case management team.Have a clear, working knowledge of relevant policies and practices related to client intake, safety, support and case management.Does this sound like you? You're a passionate and confident woman who has the ability to directly respond to women who present in crisis, to provide immediate support in risk assessment, safety planning and urgent referrals. You have the skills and knowledge to work with each woman to develop a case plan that supports her and her children's safety, rights, goals and autonomy, through a responsive and integrated service approach.
Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications in relevant discipline (Social Work, Human Services, Allied Health, Social Science)At least 3 years experience working in relevant field, with demonstrated ability to competently perform all the requirements of the position.Sound knowledge and understanding of the effects and causes of domestic violence from a feminist perspective including knowledge of cultural differences and needs.Well developed interpersonal and communication skills including oral and written skills.A high level of skill in providing a casework service to clients including advocacy and crisis intervention.Demonstrate a sound knowledge of legislation impacting on situations of domestic violence.Ability to work autonomously with clients to maximise optimal outcomes whilst utilising a team approach to develop and enhance client options.Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment to attain organisational goals.Ability to liaise with government and non-government agencies and to advocate on behalf of clients.Ability to investigate, develop and update resources.An excellent working knowledge of computer operations.Other requirements: Hold a current Blue CardFirst Aid and CPR (willing to obtain)Other benefits include: Award rate salary under SCHCDS (Crisis Assistance and Supported Housing CASH Level 3.1) plus full salary packaging benefitsHealth and wellbeing support, including EAP and professional supervision, as well as internal networks to support our diverse workforceHow to Apply: Please email your personalised Cover Letter and Resume to Emalee Anstee at ******.
