DESCRIPTION
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations - from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry.
As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

The AWS Test Automation Platform team is looking for passionate software development managers to help transform the way our customers improve, write and execute test automation software.
We develop frameworks and services that enable teams to improve the quality of their products through testing and feedback at every stage of the software lifecycle.
We make best practices the path of least resistance; our tools are automated, intelligent, ubiquitous, and wherever possible we automatically perform actions on behalf of our customers/software engineers.
Key job responsibilities Responsible for the overall systems development life cycleManagement and execution against project plans and delivery commitments; overseeing day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environmentManagement of engineering resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a world-class engineering teamWork closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approachReport on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management A day in the life Build a best-in-class engineering team that delivers excellent results through rapid iterationsDesign and develop state-of-the-art approaches to solving complex and ambiguous problemsCultivate engineering and operational excellence through metrics and continuous learningProvide thought leadership and establish technical vision for the teamUse software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of engineering team management experience7+ years of engineering experience8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teams PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers #J-18808-Ljbffr
