Randstad are currently working with a Queensland Government Department to find a Data Engineer / System Architect for an initial 6 Month contract with likelihood of extension.
This role is based in Brisbane CBD with WFH flexibility.
Role Purpose: You will work closely with the Executive Director and Chief Analyst to define the IT system architecture necessary to support the linkage of multi-agency data to provide Government with comprehensive, system-wide information.
This role will develop system specifications for the Azure data lake, the automated pattern recognition software and ensuring that the data structure, retrieval and analysis needs are met.
Key Duties: Define the IT system architecture necessary to support the Azure data lake, the automated pattern recognition software and ensure that the data analysis needs are met by all participating agencies.Provide high-level advice to senior management, managers in other work units, partners and stakeholders on matters related to organisational performance measurement and reporting, and manage organisational information systems or applications.Manage the development and maintenance of business intelligence solutions to present data and statistics in an accessible and user-friendly manner for distribution to customers.Network and collaborate across teams to ensure data and analytics solutions are consistent with standards across Data and Analytics and meeting the needs of Departmental users.Ensure team members can access and use data visualisation and analysis tools such as Python, R and dashboards.Ensure system processes and procedures, including those for software QA, are current and transferable.Contribute to the development of a corporate culture, which is client-focused and values innovation and continuous improvement.The Ideal Candidate for this role will possess: Experience building data lakes in Azure.Experience with programming languages such as Python, Scala or R.Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others.If interested, please hit "APPLY" or email your CV to .
