An integral part of our UnitingCare Family Support Team based in Townsville as a Family Counsellor, you'll be encouraged to grow, develop and feel empowered to make the everyday easier for the people we care so passionately about.
Your part in our UnitingCare team We are currently seeking to appoint a Family Counsellor to work as a part of our UnitingCare QLD Family Support Team based in Townsville on a permanent full-time basis.
This position provides a holistic approach to meet the needs of individuals and families.
The Family Counsellor will conduct assessments, offer counselling support, and facilitate group workshops to families, parents and young people as appropriate.
Key responsibilities include implementing therapeutic interventions, educating families, and connecting them with community services and resources.
Additionally, the Family Counsellor will collaborate with team members in decision-making, contribute to the development of program procedures, and participate in case planning meetings.
What makes a difference for us? You will need sound knowledge of and demonstrated ability to utilise therapeutic processes and practices including the ability to analyse, evaluate and make objective judgments and recommendations.
In addition to the above you will also be required to have:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services field and demonstrated skills and sound knowledge gained through substantial experience working with children and families.Current Drivers Licence.Working with Children Check (Blue Card)What makes a difference for you?
