About The Role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.
As an Analyst in Mine Geology, you will be leveraging technical expertise in mine geology to execute technical duties independently, with minimal supervision.
This involves honing both general mine geology proficiency and specialized competencies, contributing to the efficient operation of mining activities.
Paraburdoo is undergoing an exciting chapter and is on critical path; with the commissioning of Western Range and the closure of Eastern Range & Channar this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Reporting to the Superintendent Geoscience with no direct reports the ideal candidate will:
Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance to safety standards and procedures.
Geological Data Management: Supervise the collection of grade/quality control samples and conduct geological mapping.
Organize and compile collected data into relevant geological information management systems.
Reporting: Prepares grade control and geology reports for distribution to production and technical teams.
Drilling Program Support: Supports the planning and execution of grade/quality control drilling programs.
Data Compilation and Analysis: Assists in compiling and analyzing data for mine reconciliation reports.
Supervision and Collaboration: Provides first-line supervision for designated mine personnel and supports other mine functions as necessary for geological sampling and drilling activities.
Compliance and Standards: Maintains familiarity with and adheres to Rio Tinto standards for resources, reserves, and reconciliation.
A current Manual C-class WA Driver's license.
Skills And Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Geology or related area.
Proven experience in a geology-related field.
Demonstrated experience in mining geology; exposure to exploration and resource drilling activities would be advantageous.
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent practical communication skills necessary for the efficient implementation of geological processes with operational staff.
Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
