Principal Solutions Engineer

Evergen is the software engine powering a network of distributed energy resources (DERs), often referred to as a "virtual power plant" (VPP).
We coordinate batteries and other OEM technologies to work together seamlessly, supporting the electricity grid while enabling greater adoption of renewable energy and delivering additional value to individual battery owners.
Our mission is to orchestrate >10GW of distributed energy assets globally.
It's an ambitious goal, but this year, we've established ourselves as leaders in the field.
Job DescriptionAs the Principal Solutions Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in helping us optimise and expand our systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading integrations with new hardware providers, from initial discussions to API testing and project briefsSynthesising complex system data to assist software engineers and guide our tech buildsDeveloping and creating APIs to enhance our platform's capabilitiesIdentifying innovative solutions to improve operational processesContributing to electrical design packages and project planningResolving technical issues and continuously improving our offeringsQualificationsSolid knowledge of electrical engineering, solar-battery-inverter, EV and ideally hot water systems, and electricity industry fundamentalsExperience in API development, documentation, and testingCoding skills and comfort working in a software environmentStrong communication skills to build shared understanding across teamsSelf-driven and capable of managing your own priorities and projectsExperience in control systems and design for distributed energy systemsWillingness to share skills and improve the teamIdeally a working knowledge of the Australian energy marketAdditional InformationWe are re-architecting a better sustainable energy future for everyone on the planet.
