$130k - $160k package + Annual bonus + DiscountsFlexible Locations of Brisbane, Sydney, MelbourneLead and mentor a high-performing team while advancing your technical expertiseCollaborate with cutting-edge technologies such as Databricks, DBT and AWS RedshiftSuncorp is looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our Insurance & Enterprise Technology (IET) team and lead the development of automated data pipelines, integrating, transforming, and enriching data from diverse sources to deliver actionable insights and value to business stakeholders.What You'll DoAs a Senior Data Engineer, you will:Develop data pipelines, engineering patterns, and end-to-end data solutionsTranslate complex business requirements into scalable data applicationsDesign, implement, and optimise data models using DBT and DatabricksDesign and implement scalable Data Engineering patterns to load data into Datavault 2.0 and Kimball-modelled tables utilizing DBT.Maintain and enhance existing data engineering patterns and frameworks, leveraging Python and DBT macros.Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver innovative data solutionsLead and mentor junior team members to uplift technical capabilitiesEmbed best practices in data governance, security, and DevOpsWhat You'll BringMinimum 5 years in data engineering roles, preferably within large organisationsProficiency in Databricks, Python, Pyspark, AWS Redshift and data transformation tools like DBTExperience with data modelling methodologies, specifically Data Vault 2.0 and Kimball, with the ability to work comfortably within conceptual, logical, and physical data modelsA proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to adapt to changing prioritiesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
