About the Role
It's an exciting time at Aurizon as we continue to grow nationally.
We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Group Financial Controller & Treasurer division.
This role focuses on capital accounting & reporting, providing a fantastic opportunity to work in a structured, dynamic environment.
You will support the team lead in delivering comprehensive financial accounting services and governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Support budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes, with a focus on capital expenditure.
Coordinate Aurizon Investment Committee (AIC) meetings and prepare reporting packs.
Focus on capital and governance processes, including ensuring compliance with external and internal reporting.
Analyse financial data to support decision-making and balance sheet forecasting.
Provide support and insights to business partners as required.
Engage actively with the business to assist in identifying areas for process improvement in tools, systems, and financial management.
About You
We're looking for an experienced financial professional with:
A tertiary qualification in a finance-related discipline (mandatory).
Certification as a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or Chartered Management Accountant (CMA) (mandatory).
Experience with SAP and familiarity with capital forums and reporting processes (preferred).
A strong background in financial accounting, particularly in capital accounting.
Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
