About the role
We are currently seeking an intermediate level experienced Legal Secretary to join our Restructuring & Insolvency team based in our Melbourne office.
The team act for Australia's largest banks and financial institutions on a range of insolvency, turnaround and securities enforcement matters across a range of industries.
This role will assist a Partner, Senior Associate, and a Lawyer in all areas of secretarial support, including managing crucial team administration, handling client queries and managing the monthly billing process.
What does the role involve?
Diary management
Administrative support to the partner and fee earners in the practice group
Managing confidential firm information and opening new matters
Inputting and maintaining client data into client relationship software (Interaction)
Assisting with client queries
Completing and overseeing the monthly billing process
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' experience as a Legal Secretary within the Restructuring & Insolvency practice group or prior experience in a similar role.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have experience working in a medium to large sized law firm with a Restructuring & Insolvency practice area and be highly organised. You should be able to work efficiently and use your initiative, as well as being proactive in your approach to tasks and showing exemplary attention to detail.
Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential, as are excellent communication skills. You will be capable of using automated billing systems and client relationship management software (Elite Enterprise and InterAction preferred).
