Davidson Technology have teamed up with a leading Australian Financial Organisation to help them find their next Distinguished Engineer.
Join a select cohort of D.E's within this organisation as leaders in their domains.
Specifically joining the Financial Crime and Fraud team, you will drive innovation for new technologies and ways of working.
Promote best practice and be the "go-to" for any complex problems that need expert help to solve.
As a Distinguished Engineer, you won't have direct reports and people management duties, giving you full focus on the technology and strategy definition.
This is a role that doesn't come around often and will suit someone coming from experience as a Chief Engineer, Head of Engineering, Principal Engineer or the like who wants to stay hands on and have full focus on technology.
What you will be doing and the experience you need: Provide architectural and thought leadership across several interdependent engineering teams, architects, systems and offerings.Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to customer, business, and technology strategy.Develop and lead multiyear architecture and technology solutions that are used across multiple products and teams.
Driving system and platform thinking within development teams.Advocate customer back / problem focus, end-to-end solution mindset across cross-functional domain areas and teams.Be the technical expert, researching, evaluating, and implementing state-of-the-art technology (open source, third party, etc.
)Be a key member of the team by representing technology-driven opportunities and implications of various business and offering strategies and tactics.Demonstrate strong technical documentation and presentation skills to communicate architectural and design options, educating development teams, business users, and senior leadership.Deep technical experts and thought leaders that help accelerate adoption of the very best engineering practices, while maintaining knowledge on industry innovations, trends, and practices.
Resolve conflicts between teams for complex technical areas.Experience in conceptualizing, launching, and driving business and product strategies and multi-year roadmaps.Expertise with modern technology stacks, API design, microservices, public cloud and designing for resilience and operational excellence.Drive Technical strategy, aligning to the technical strategy across the business unit or enterprise.Provide product expertise, consistently influence product decisions and scope to determine the right technical trade-offs to deliver customer value.Innovate - partnering with cross functional teams and or stakeholders to identify major business opportunities unlocked by technical capabilities.Experience in Financial or Banking Environment, Ideally within Fraud and Financial Crime.Additional Information: This role is open to candidates in both Melbourne and Sydney.

Two coding tests will be implemented as part of the interview process.
