The Opportunity
We are seeking the expertise of a Commercial Project Manager to join our team in Canberra, supporting key maritime projects that deliver critical Defence capability in support of Australia's war fighters in executing Defence's mission to defend Australia and its national interests.
As a Commercial Project Manager, you will bring your extensive commercial, contract, procurement, and project management experience to help facilitate the development of contract governance documents, contract change proposals, and financial management.
You will understand the factors leading to acquisition project success, including the capability lifecycle from strategy and inception through to in-service support and disposal.
You will work alongside Commonwealth project team members, supporting the progress of projects through the One Defence Capability System, including the development of key documents supporting project clearance through Defence capability gate reviews.
You will also liaise with Defence and non-Defence stakeholders, facilitate, develop, and administer the delivery of acquisition and sustainment contracts with key Defence industry partners, coordinate Fundamental Inputs to Capability, manage risks and issues, facilitate workshops, and maintain associated registers.
Additionally, you will undertake regular project reporting and management of dashboards, and manage arrangements with overseas parties, such as non-Australian Defence and government bodies.
About You
A project management qualification and experience working within the Defence acquisition and sustainment projects space are required.
You should possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to focus on outcomes in a dynamic, changing, complex environment.
You should also be able to make a quality contribution to a team composed of multiple roles in multiple locations.
NV2 AGSVA clearance or the ability to upgrade NV1 to an NV2 security clearance is necessary, along with experience working within the Maritime domains of Defence.
