Are you passionate about finding innovative solutions to flood management and stormwater issues?
Planned Resources are seeking an experienced Flood/Project Engineer to join an inner city council on a permanent, full-time basis.
This role plays a key part in managing and mitigating flood risks, ensuring sustainable urban growth, and contributing to the Council's Stormwater Management Plan.
Key Responsibilities: Develop integrated solutions to address flood risks, urban intensification, climate change, and technological advancements.Prepare flood risk reports for sites subject to inundation using council flood maps and collaborate with floodplain management authorities to set minimum floor levels.Provide reports and consent for building on flood-prone land in compliance with the Building Regulations 2018.Contribute technical input to the implementation of the Stormwater Management Plan, manage development projects related to stormwater drainage, and secure necessary drainage contributions.Update flood maps and support Planning Scheme Amendments and Section 153 applications.Manage project priorities to ensure effective flood mitigation programs that reduce risks for local residents and businesses.Lead and mentor a team to ensure operational efficiency and quality.Contribute to ongoing improvements within the Capital Works unit to enhance services and systems.Ensure compliance with Council's objectives in relation to budget, service quality, and safety standards.Key Skills & Expertise: Strong knowledge in analysing stormwater catchments and designing flood mitigation solutions, including integrated water cycle management.Proficiency in using tools such as M.U.S.I.C., DRAINS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, and GIS for stormwater system design.Expertise in Catchment Hydrology, Water Sensitive Urban Design, and Integrated Water Cycle Management.Experience with flood map analysis, identifying flood mitigation works, and managing contracts.Familiarity with relevant legislation such as the Water Act, Planning & Environment Act, and Local Government Act. #J-18808-Ljbffr
