Watson Young Architects is a dynamic, people-focused practice dedicated to delivering innovative architecture that inspires.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Architect with a passion for both commercial and residential projects to join our team.
About the Role
As a Senior Architect (if registered) or Senior Project Leader (if unregistered) at Watson Young Architects, you will lead complex commercial and education projects from concept through to completion, ensuring design excellence and client satisfaction.
This role requires a strong leader who can manage and mentor teams, communicate effectively with clients, and manage projects to success.
Key Responsibilities
Manage commercial and education projects, ensuring design innovation and technical quality Oversee project delivery from concept design through to completion Manage client relationships, ensuring clear communication and expectations Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including consultants and contractors Mentor and support junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and growth Ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met Contribute to business development by maintaining strong client relationships Skills and Experience
A strong portfolio of commercial and education projects, particularly with D&C delivery Proven ability to lead projects and teams, with excellent communication and leadership skills Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite Previous use of Synergy a bonus but not necessary Full tender knowledge with education projects is a bonus but not necessary Strong understanding of building regulations, codes, and standards Experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and contracts A passion for sustainable design and innovation Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment What we offer
