We're offering a unique opportunity to become part of the Xenco team as a Technical Services contractor/consultant and leading the technical services team of a forward-thinking coal mining operation in Central Queensland.As the Technical Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all mine planning and design activities. From short-term scheduling to life-of-mine strategies, you'll ensure alignment with production targets and adherence to operational plans.Your expertise will be crucial in:Managing geotechnical risks to safeguard both safety and economic viability.Providing leadership in mine geology, ore control, reconciliation, and reporting.Delivering specialist expertise in mine engineering, geotechnical analysis, hydrology, and surveying to optimise mining operations.This is your chance to make a meaningful impact while being part of a collaborative, results-driven team.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and guide a specialist team across Mining, Geotechnical, Geological, and Survey disciplines.Develop and execute strategies, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and mine plans (short-term to life-of-mine).Drive innovation and improvement initiatives, ensuring cutting-edge operational and technical practices.Manage compliance, geotechnical risk, and safety standards to deliver development and production targets.Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to enhance team performance and capability.Deliver accurate, timely reports to the General Manager and stakeholders.Qualifications and SkillsEducation: Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.Experience: Over 7 years in a leadership role with expertise in technical and operational open-cut OR underground coal mining.Skills:Proven ability in leading technical services teams.Strong communication skills, including reporting and stakeholder engagement.Demonstrated capability to manage change, promote innovation, and achieve results.Technical leadership and coaching experience to develop individuals and enhance team capabilities.Expertise in risk management, preventative controls, and regulatory compliance.We are looking for people that are ambitious and able to use their initiative to drive outcomes.
