Job DescriptionAs the Head of Engineering for our Technology Foundations stream, your responsibilities will be as follows:
Partner with the Product, Design & Operations leaders to develop the Product Strategy & Roadmap.Lead the delivery teams that are responsible for the delivery of our product roadmap and ensure practices are in place to deliver predictably.Facilitate the continuous improvement of software delivery practices in the teams (i.e.
Software Guilds, Training & specific projects).Lead Platforms teams to ensure software delivery teams have the right infrastructure & tools required for end-to-end delivery of their services.Manage our cloud costs with the Platforms teams.Collaborate with Legal, Risk & Information Security to ensure effective risk management.Collaborate with the People team to create an outstanding experience for the engineering team.QualificationsTechnology skills & knowledge required to lead our Technology Foundations stream: Extensive experience in software engineering - Deep understanding of software engineering concepts and practices.
Ideally, former Senior Software engineer or Tech lead who has led complex software engineering projects.Architecture - deep understanding of AWS services and how to compose them into a well-architected solution based on AWS 6 pillars of Well-Architected framework.AWS ServicesCompute: EC2, ECS, LambdaData: RDS, S3Networking: VPCs (Hub & Spoke), ALB, NLB, PrivateLink, CloudFront, WAFMessaging: SQS, SNS, EventBusConfiguration: SSM, Secrets ManagerIAM - Organisations, Identity Centre, IAMSecurity - Guard Duty, Macie, Security Hub, ConfigCI/CD - Understanding of automating deployments via pipelines in CI/CD tools (GROW uses Buildkite)Infrastructure as Code - TerraformContainers - using Containers with AWS ECSInfoSec - understanding of technology controls used to apply InfoSec controlsAdditional InformationWhy you'll love working at GROW Birthday Leave - Take an extra day off per year on your birthdayWeekly Pay Cycle - No more waiting for PayDayHybrid Work Arrangement - We have a true hybrid arrangementExciting Discounts - Think movie tickets, gift cards & even electronics.Looking for a job can be stressful and we don't want you agonising over the wording of your cover letter, so don't include one.
