Offer Description Part time (0.5 FTE), fixed term role for 3 years Exciting opportunity to work as a Research Officer at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Base Salary from $99,455 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation About the opportunity
Located at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, the Research Officer works together with the Chief Investigator and Clinical Leads to implement clinical trials activities in a culturally safe way for Aboriginal study participants through all stages.
They will work alongside the First Nations Research Team to conduct semi-structured qualitative interviews, handle data capture, verification, and adherence to standards.
They ensure Good Clinical Practice and ensure every aspect of the trial is conducted with cultural sensitivity and meets the highest ethical scientific standards.

This is a Targeted Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Position.
Preference will be given to applicants of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent.
This exemption is claimed under Section 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
Work together with the Chief Investigators and Clinical Leads to implement clinical trial activities in a culturally safe way for Aboriginal study participants.
Coordinate activities relating to Aboriginal community engagement and recruiting clinical trial participants to take part in an Aboriginal-focused sub-study at all study times.
Perform qualitative research and analysis by conducting semi-structured interviews.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify key issues as they relate to Aboriginal people in the Alcohol and Other Drugs field and provide effective solutions.
Support data capture and integrity (in partnership with the clinical research study Chief Investigator) ensuring compliance with regulations.
Perform work activities relevant to the role's key accountabilities as approved by the Manager and commensurate to the role's classification level.
About you
Demonstrated experience in conducting qualitative interviews.
Experience in a research-related role, in either clinical research setting or with patient groups.
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively communicate.
