You will be working on the development of some of the industry's best underground mining vehicles for our customers across the globe.
The role will be based at our modern facility in Burnie, Tasmania.

We design, fabricate, and assemble our vehicles from the ground up, all from our facilities in Burnie.
As a key member of the Product Development team, you will be building and testing prototype and pilot machines in the Research and Development workshop.
About the RoleThis is a hands-on role and will report to our Engineering Manager.
Key tasks will include: Managing, coordinating, and assisting with the build and testing of prototype and pilot machines.Working closely with the Lead Project Engineer to ensure the machines meet the functional specifications.Completing product build, testing, and QA documentation.Assisting the Lead Project Engineer with research, design, evaluation, and analysis of products, equipment, systems, and processes.Participating in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, and codes.Assisting Product Support personnel with failure analysis and providing recommendations.Additional BenefitsEnjoy living on the beautiful North-West Coast of Tasmania, with pristine beaches and rivers, historic towns, and Cradle Mountain only an hour's drive away.Relocation assistance will be provided for interstate candidates.A strong safety culture.Flexible working options, including 4-day weeks and 9-day fortnights.An Employee Assistance Program to support overall health and well-being.Elphinstone Rewards discount program where you can save on everyday shopping including Woolworths, JB Hi-Fi, BCF, and Myers.About YouDesired Skills and Qualifications: Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (Diesel Fitting) or similar.Hydraulics and failure analysis training and experience will be highly regarded.Advanced mechanical ability, technical knowledge, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem-solving skills.Heavy machinery / mobile plant experience.An exceptional level of attention to detail.Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.Ability to prioritise effectively to meet development schedules.Ability to work effectively within a high-performing team.About UsAt Elphinstone, our most important asset is our people.
