The Hospital:This modern and progressive public hospital operates 180 beds and provides a broad range of specialist services.
The hospital services around 85,000 people encompassing all age groups and has strong ties with the University of Newcastle, supporting a strong education and training ethic.
The facilities include specialist wards/units for Surgery, Day Surgery, General Medicine, Critical Care, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Emergency Services, Oncology, Palliative Care, Rehabilitation, High Dependency Nursing and Mental Health.
The Role:Our client is looking for a Staff Specialist in General Medicine who can also offer a sub-specialty in either Nephrology, Infectious Diseases, Geriatrics or Cardiology.
This will be a 50:50 split.
Perform clinical services in General Medicine for inpatients and Emergency Department patients as required.
Provide clinical leadership to junior colleagues.
The Requirements:You must hold the FRACP in Geriatric Medicine or be assessed by the RACP as substantially comparable.
