The Regional Safety Advisor will work within the regional safety advisory team in an advisory capacity to manage the development, implementation, and oversight of safety strategy for system, framework, policies and/or procedures for the Qantas Group QLD and NT business areas.
The focus being to minimise or eliminate, where practicable, injuries to persons, damage to equipment, infrastructure or the environment.
This is to be achieved by working with the business units to ensure regulatory compliance and delivery of a proactive safety culture.
This role is integral to improving the identification of, mitigation against, and resolution of relevant hazards.
Key Responsibilities: Development and implementation of safety strategies. Work with diverse stakeholder groups. Ensure regulatory compliance and delivery of a proactive safety culture. Minimise or eliminate injuries and damages. Improve hazard identification and resolution processes. Requirements: A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline. Ability to work comfortably with diverse stakeholder groups. Experience in an HSE position with a record of delivering improvement. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement safety strategies within a large operational business. Sound understanding of WHS legislation and Human Factors principles. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Self-motivated with initiative and flexibility. Positive, results-focused disposition with resilience towards challenges. Why Qantas?
