Our team provides tailored therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing the unique needs of each child or young person we care for to help them overcome trauma and build resilience on their journey to adulthood in Out of Home Care (OOHC).
The role offers a lot of variety and no two days are the sameThe Therapeutic House Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day functions and operations of the house, together with its small team, to provide individualised support to young people in line with the principles of Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC).
The role has leadership responsibilities and will be a great role model for up-and-coming Youth Workers, providing mentoring and coaching to equip them with the skills they need to do their job wellThis is a great chance to be part of an established team that will work together in collaboration with agency leadership to deliver great services to children and young people in our care.This is a Permanent Full-time opportunity, based in Sydney which may require flexibility to work after hours and at weekends when participating in the 24/7 on-call system (providing phone and/or onsite support as required).
This role requires you to work directly in the house 3 days a week and the other 2 days are admin days that are completed away from the house (Office/Home).This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate people leader experienced in OOHC setting, looking for career growth and opportunities to diversify their skillset and take their career to new heights.
We are looking for a passionate individual who is looking to bring positive energy to the house, lead by example and transform the lives of children and young peopleKey responsibilities:Supervise all daily operations from the allocated house/s.Provide strengths-based solutions focused supervision, support and mentoring to Youth Workers.Management of house finances and budgets, administration, client records and reporting.Ensure compliance with incident management, reporting and escalation requirements and that organisational obligations under mandatory reporting, child protection, safeguarding and WHS are met.Advocate for and support the rights of children and young people.To be successful in this role, you will have:Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Social Welfare, including electives on trauma OR relevant Diploma AND Graduate Certificate in either: Developmental Trauma, or Statutory Child Protection, or Client Intervention and Case Management.Min.
3 years' direct experience in working with high risk or vulnerable children and young people in an out of home care environment.Min.
2 years' experience leading a small team using contemporary approaches.A well-developed understanding of OOHC Services, ITC and child protection.Ability to manage crisis situations and make sound decisions under pressure.Full NSW drivers licence and own insured vehicle.We Offer:Competitive hourly rate based on SCHADS Award 5.1.Salary packaging with $15,900 general and $2,650 entertainment benefits.Face to face and online training with ample opportunities for career development.Be supported by Clinical and Case Management teams.24/7 crisis and incident response support.Free confidential counselling support.Regular supervision, reflective practice and teamwork planning activities.For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified candidates, minimum qualification is desirable, but experience and willingness to participate in training is acceptable.We are a safe, respectful, and inclusive employer.
