Adjunct Lecturer Pool - Practical Legal Training The College of Law Western Australia invites expressions of interest from legal practitioners who wish to be engaged as adjunct lecturers.
Expressions of interest are sought from legal practitioners interested in assessing and/or course lecturing in the Practical Legal Training (PLT) program.
The Practical Legal Training (PLT) Program provides post-graduate training in the practical application of the law and legal practice.
Completion of the Program leads to the award of a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and meets the PLT requirements for admission to legal practice.
Responsibilities: Course Lecturers: Facilitate students' learning during the online component of the PLT, delivered via the Canvas learning platform over a 15 or 30-week period.
Provide feedback to students using lecturer guides provided by the College.
Must have access to a computer with reliable internet and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook.Assessors: Conduct one-on-one oral assessments with students via video and/or tele-conference.
Engage on a half or full day basis, with assessments done from home or workplace subject to IT requirements.Required Qualifications and Experience: At least 5 years' experience as a Western Australian Legal PractitionerDemonstrated aptitude for and interest in teachingEnthusiasm for the development and continual improvement of teaching skillsAbility to work cooperatively with colleagues in a teamEnthusiasm for the practice of law and ability to communicate that enthusiasmUnderstanding of the strategic context of the legal professionExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenGood time management skillsProficiency in use of MS OfficeAdjunct lecturers are engaged as independent contractors and must have an Australian Business Number (ABN).
