The Project
UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032.
This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.
The project scope includes:
500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa, up to six new substation sites.
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer Electrical to join the team onsite.

Key Responsibilities:
Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications.
Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
Ensure project engineering completion is on time and within budget.
Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings.
Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilise corrective action in line with JH's authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin.
Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards.
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of structures and construction work.
Requirements for this role:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent.
Diploma of Project Management in Engineering Science, Building, Construction or equivalent.
Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years engineering experience with 4+ years site based.
Experience on > $50 M Projects.
Project Engineer and operational experience.
Ideally have experience on transmission or substation projects.
