CriteriaCriteria 1: Capacity to plan and provide high quality pathways and careers advice to students and families at a cohort, class and individual level.Criteria 2: Ability to maintain comprehensive student records and use this information to improve outcomes so that students can achieve their pathway goals.Criteria 3: Demonstrated high-level time management, organisational and communication skills.Criteria 4: Capacity to build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including:students and their families;work experience providers;tertiary providers;other relevant agencies and organisations.Criteria 5: Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth.RoleThe Careers Practitioner will work as a team with other ES Careers Practitioners to deliver high quality advice and support the school community in the development and implementation of careers education.ResponsibilitiesWorking as part of a team the Careers Practitioner will:Create & manage career calendar for each year level.Coordinate and implement the My Career Insight (Morrisby) program for year 9 students including monitoring the Morrisby website.Coordinate Careers programs from 7-12.Manage the course selection with pathways counselling and course selection process.Communicate with the school community in relation to career-related information.Organise external presentations as appropriate for year-level assemblies.Respond to incoming careers-related emails.Conduct exit meetings (& provide appropriate pathways options) with students and families as directed by year-level teams/principal team.Counsel year 12 students with VTAC accounts, course preference, SEAS & Scholarship applications and provide support when results are released.Provide information in relation to scholarship applications.Provide counselling and support for students and families needing personalised or specialised pathways.Link students in with appropriate additional support services when needed.Assist students with subject choices along with the transition to tertiary courses, employment, apprenticeships, defence forces, etc.Maintain current and relevant resources in the Careers office.Attend career practitioner days at university, TAFE, Industry events, etc.Present information at year-level assemblies, information evenings, classes, etc.Engage with the Headstart Coordinator to support students' access to SBAT opportunities.Attend SSG meetings as required.Maintain contact and provide support to students/families approved for Temporary Exemption from school.Direct completion of DET destination data requirements.Maintain current knowledge with Structured Workplace Learning and Work Experience DET requirements.Maintain appropriate student records.Attend and actively participate in regular careers meetings with the Leading Teacher and/or Assistant Principal.Ensure any new and current initiatives as directed by DET are implemented timely.Other duties as directed by the Business Manager, Principal or Assistant Principal.EEO AND OHS CommitmentApplicants seeking part-time employment are encouraged to apply for any teaching service position and, if they are the successful candidate, request a reduced time fraction.
