About the Opportunity
Bloodwood Tree is seeking a full-time Housing Support Officer to join their team in Port Hedland, WA.
In this role, you will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in the Pilbara region as they transition towards independent home ownership. You will assist clients with loan applications, budgeting, and understanding tenancy agreements. You will also promote the program through targeted marketing and reporting, ensuring that families are exposed to relevant opportunities.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supporting clients to purchase their own homes by offering guidance on budgeting, loan applications, and financial planning
Assisting families with understanding and navigating tenancy agreements and home-buying processes
Promoting home ownership opportunities through advertising and marketing efforts
Maintaining accurate records of services provided, including pre-purchase inspections and land title verifications
Developing and reviewing participation plans for clients, ensuring progress towards their home ownership goals
Meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on program outcomes
Using computer systems and software to track client progress and report on services
Collaborating with other team members to support clients through every stage of the home-buying process

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Certificate IV Qualification in a relevant field, or at least two (2) years' experience in a community service front-line role, or a willingness to undertake further training
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, with experience working with Aboriginal young people and communities
A strong understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal youth with out-of-home care experiences
A current 'C' class driver's license
Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check
Additionally, the following skills will be highly regarded:
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate flexibility
Current knowledge of resources in the youth services field, including education and employment pathways
A commitment to working collaboratively with the team and across the region on outreach services

Compensation is a competitive annual salary starting at $78,382 PLUS super (negotiable based on experience and qualifications). A host of excellent benefits includes:
