To view all our benefits, visit www.racp.edu.au/about/careers-at-racp.Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working Model 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,2 days from an RACP office location per week,1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.Job DescriptionAbout the Role Overseas Trained Physicians (OTPs) are medical professionals who have received their medical education and training outside of the country where they intend to practice.
Overseas specialists in Australia can access short-term specialist training and specialist assessment.
In NZ, overseas specialists can access vocational registration.
At RACP, this program is responsible for the strategic management of OTP from a program development and program delivery perspective.
The primary purpose of the role is to facilitate the effective case management, administration, and continuous improvement of procedures and processes to support specialist assessment of SIMGs, ensuring consistency of approach to assessment and decision-making.
Support case management of short-term specialist training applications as required.
Duties include: Provide timely and clear management and advice on compliance and case management with relevant policy, procedure, and processes for the specialist assessment of SIMGs and/or those on the short-term training pathway.Effectively and professionally communicate with employers, regulators, and OTP Committee members.Support line manager and peers on complex cases and approvals.Facilitate and progress data collection/management and reporting including updating databases and spreadsheets with information on applicants, to ensure transparency of the team's operations and to identify opportunities for improvement.Contribute to team projects and initiatives as needed.Communicate effectively with OTP applicants or those on the short-term training pathway including timely and clear advice on compliance with relevant policy, procedure, and processes for their assessment.Case management of OTP applicants and those on the short-term training pathway, including data collection and management, reporting, updating relevant information, and monitoring decisions.Desired Skills and ExperienceThe successful candidate will have: Tertiary qualification in education or a related fieldDemonstrated capacity to quickly understand and operate in a complex environmentCommitment to delivering high-quality outcomesCapability to take initiative and implement process changeAbility to provide robust advice to senior internal and external stakeholders based on information gathering, analysis, and sound reasoning skillsAssessment of applications in regulatory or rules-based assessment settingExcellent written and communication skillsStrong relationship-building skillsAbility to represent the OTP Team at meetings and in communications as required and appropriateTo apply, please send your resume and short cover letter by COB 21 January 2025.
