ABOUT THE COMPANYThis Local Council is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Health Officer who possesses a strong level of autonomy for an initial 6-month contract with the potential to be ongoing.
You will become a crucial player, contributing to improve the health of the environment and the community.
ABOUT THE POSITIONYour role as an Environmental Health Officer entails assisting the Team Leader and the team in ensuring compliance with regulations.
You will be responsible for various tasks, including:
Assisting with inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with the full range of public and environmental health standards.Liaising with different stakeholders.Resolving public health and environmental issues.DUTIESCarry out inspections at various locations.Respond to inquiries and provide safety advice to stakeholders.Coordinate and issue infringement notices when necessary.Assess DA's to ensure requirements of regulations.SKILLS & EXPERIENCEBachelor of Natural Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent.Current Class C Drivers Licence.Experience in enforcement and/or litigation of environmental health legislation.Demonstrated experience in Local Councils is preferred.CULTUREIn this Council, you will find ongoing opportunities to enhance your skills and advance your career through exposure to conducting a diverse range of inspections.
