The Role: Due to newly awarded project, Symal are looking for a robust Environment & Sustainability Manager to jump on board a team that will be based in Mount Fox, 2 hours outside of Townsville, delivering an innovative energy project.
This role in particular will be a FIFO role on a 2:1 roster.
Your Impact: The experience you bring will ensure that Symal leaves as little an impact as possible to the surrounding environment.
Your Every Day: Developing and leading the maintenance of environment and sustainability management systems across the project.
Managing environmental incident response and investigations ensuring all potential risks are mitigated, in conjunction with the wider HSEQ team.
Providing environment and sustainability guidance and ensuring there is a consistent approach to compliance across the project.
Coordinating multiple work fronts and consultants.
Maintaining a high level of compliance to project management systems, contract requirements, and legislative requirements.
Liaising with and working closely with the wider delivery team to implement and manage environmentally friendly and sustainable risk management controls, ensuring regulatory and legal obligations are met.
Working closely with the client and government bodies on related environmental matters on the project.
Who are you?
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Earth Science, Environmental Sciences or equivalent.
Post-graduate qualifications in the environmental field and/or project management is highly regarded.
ISC Sustainability Accreditation (desirable).
Approximately 5-10 years with relevant experience in HSEQ within the construction industry.
Certification under a nationally recognised professional program in Erosion and Sediment Control or similar.
Willingness to work away from home in a camp environment.
Experience working in Queensland (ideally).
