Join our dynamic team at CS Energy as a Data Engineer – Energy and Forecasting, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy trading and analytics.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining an optimal data pipeline architecture to support various teams, including Physical Trading, Financial Trading, Retail, Finance, Future Energy, and ICT.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Duties include the below, but are not limited to: Data Assembly: Gather and manage large, complex datasets to meet business requirements.Analytical Tools: Develop tools to provide actionable insights into business performance metrics, enhancing retail load forecasting models and methodologies.Support & Insights: Offer analytical support to the Retail Sales and Operations Team, delivering insights on customer performance metrics such as cost to serve and cost to acquire.Cloud Projects: Lead data engineering projects on cloud platforms like Databricks and Snowflake, improving performance and adding new features.Documentation & Compliance: Ensure thorough documentation of processes and models, maintaining compliance with necessary standards.Market Data Management: Regularly review and maintain market data and input assumptions, producing reports on forecasting accuracy and variance sources.What's in it for you: Innovative Environment: Be at the forefront of energy market analytics and forecasting.Professional Growth: Opportunities for continuous learning and development.Collaborative Culture: Work with cross-functional teams to drive impactful projects.Flexibility: Enjoy a role that offers flexible working hours and potential travel opportunities.About You: To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience: Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Commerce, or Economics.3-5 years in the Energy Market with a deep understanding of the National Energy Market (NEM), commercial data analytics, and Australian Energy Market modeling best practices.Proficiency in tools like Excel, Python, R, Prophet, and Plexos.Exceptional communication, presentation, and business writing skills.Strong planning and organising skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.About Us: CS Energy is a proudly Queensland-owned and based company that provides competitively-priced and reliable energy to some of our state's biggest industries and employers.
